Hi Paul,

I know that area very well! I used to work at Heathcote Industrial Estate and i have family in that area too.

Work in this area is a bit diverse.

There's an upturn in the number of management jobs and professional careers, but for most professionals - they have to commute to Derby, Nottingham or Sheffield. There's a wealth of other local jobs as there has been an increase in new business developments etc in the area.

You didn't say what you do? Let me know i will try and point you in the right direction as there are a few agencies around here.

I live opposite the Heathcote Industrial estate,on a newish estate called Warwick Gates. My girlfriend works in the Aerospace Industry in Illkeston and she says theres a lot of work about for men more than women,im involved with the gas and assembly industry plus ive got fork-lift licenses and stuff, there seems to be a lot of industry about plus the cost of livings cheaper!!! ive applied at Toyota but i have to live within 30 miles of the plant but at moment im 68 miles from plant. Can you give me details of some agencies as unfortunately im not in Pinxton until 19th january again due to work. Some forum members may of seen me around Pinxton as ive got my head tattooed and have a silly accent

Try arrow recruitment in Alfreton, they specialise in industrial work.

Also in Alfreton is Evolution, near to Barclays Bank and there's a new one on the first floor of Alfreton House (Where the Tea Rooms are) Can't remember the name, think its horizons.

I used to work at BFS on Bird Road when they were part of WH Smith. I remember the whole area being developed down there - new hotel, sainsburys, KFC, BMW etc etc. Been a while since i was last down there.

You right though, there's a difference in the cost of living - the money you save, you'll probably loose at Donnington Park on your ninja!
