I've tried all sorts to loose weight and wondered if anyone has experience of using Slimming world?

Hello Mary,
If are looking for an 'emergency' weight loss I did the Atkins a couple of years ago. I lost 4 stone in about 9 months. It does work but I have put some back on, also you need to like meat because you eat a lot of it on that diet!!

If you want long term I would recommend Yoga and a vegetarian diet which I am now doing and it is much better for you than the Atkins!

I do know some people from work who have been to Slimming World and were quite sucessful. So it might be worth a try.

I think we have to find the thing that works best for us individually. Give it a go, I bet they do an introductory period where you could try it out.

I still recommend Yoga though good luck whatever you choose.

I don't think that Pinxton or South Normanton has yoga classes - best place to look is at the community centres I would guess.

Try the weight loss classes too on a Thursday at Pinxton Village hall

There's a great yoga class at Alfreton Leisure centre - it's on Wednesdays at 11am and also on Thursday night at 8.30pm.

I go every week.

It varies depending on the class - the daytime one on Wednesday tends to have an more mature age group ranging from say 35 through to 65. I guess most people are working and therefore people that are semi-retired etc tend to go.

The Thursday class attracts a much younger audience - from mid 20's through to mid 40's id say. So some days i'm the youngest in the class and others i'm the oldest!

The teacher (Becks) is really good and she demonstrates some of the very advanced moves which always makes you realise just how much more you have to learn! She teaches in Chesterfield too.
